What type of students major in Art?

Art as a major encompasses many topics. Therefore, there is a wide range of individuals who will enjoy taking art as a major. Artistic individuals are able to draw, paint write or design are primary candidates for this major. They may also have a keen sense of music and know how to play an instrument. Hobbies for art students may involve playing music, painting, attending plays, attending the theater, analyzing movies, writing creatively, drawing, or reading.

Degree Options:

GED, Certificate, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree options are available for art majors.  Your specific degree will depend on your future career requirements.  If you would like to create your own art you could start with even just a GED, but a Bachelor’s degree is usually best for a future career.  If you want to teach art in college, a Doctoral degree is normally required for your future career.
