Andrew Zubko is a Portland, Ore., based artist and illustrator that specializes in traditional, digital, and dimensional illustration. Shortly after graduating from Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, Penn., Andrew was a part of the Second Biennial Dimensional Salon at the Society of Illustrators in New York City, where the works Fear <\/em>and Cranially Disabled<\/em> were featured along with the very best in dimensional illustration.<\/p>\n

Andrew lived in Philadelphia, Penn., for the next couple years, providing work for various music groups, record labels, and honing the fine craft of comic book coloring. In 2008, Andrew relocated himself and studio to Portland where he currently resides.<\/p>\n

His past illustration clients include Psychiatric Annals<\/em>, Spitball Magazine<\/em>, North American Review<\/em>, Ink & Paper Group<\/em>, Red Sneaker String Ensemble<\/em>, The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, The Portland Mercury<\/em>, and Willamette Week<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While taking on select freelance illustration work, Andrew also is employed by LAIKA, the Portland-based animation studio behind the films Coraline<\/em> and ParaNorma<\/em>n. He is credited for his work as Face Wrangler on ParaNorman<\/em>, and is part of the team on the next feature film called The Boxtrolls<\/em>, just released Sept. 26, 2014. \u201cI have just started working with Laika on their fourth feature film and unfortunately I can’t say much about it until it is officially announced. What I can say is that it will be completely amazing and everyone is really excited to be working on it! Aside from my work with Laika, I take on various freelance illustration work when it comes along, as long as time allows.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of late winter 2010, Andrew\u2019s Batman Vs Shark illustration can be seen on many high profile blog and web sites such as io9.com, slashfilm.com, gizmodo, and many independent blogs.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did my experience at PCA&D prepare me for a career in art, it was also one of the best times of my life. The knowledge and friendships I gained there are life-long and have greatly enriched my life. It planted the seed that is now growing into a rewarding career that keeps getting better! My time at PCA&D prepared me for all the challenges a career in art can present.
