Lynn Grayson graduated from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in 2000 with not only a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, but also the prestigious John Stobart Award for Excellence in Painting. She then moved to New York City where she lived and painted for eight years, exhibiting in numerous galleries and institutions all over the world.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Calif., she is working on a project titled, Living with Plate Boundaries, which explores the world of art and geophysics through painting different areas of tectonic fault lines in locations across the globe. The paintings will ultimately be featured in a book, lectures and exhibitions.

Another feature of Grayson’s resumé is designing storyboards for commercials and feature films, while her artwork has also been featured on a variety of television shows. In 2011, she launched her own home goods line at lynngrayson.com, which now takes her images, artwork and creative style into homes around the globe.

Grayson has been honored with many awards, grants and fellowships throughout her career, including being made a Lambent Fellow by the TIDES Foundation in 2007 and receiving a grant from the Sugarman Foundation in 2008.

LJG_artworkGrayson says, “I am grateful for my years, education and mentors at Lyme Academy College,” but admits, “Deciding to pursue a career in the arts is no easy route.” She emphasizes, “The success of my career has been based on the skills, guidance, support and the business of art which Lyme Academy [College] instills in all of its students.” Pointing out, “It’s not just talent that advances your career, but also hard work, resourcefulness, a solid education and clear direction,” she continues, “My art has branched out in so many directions because of the strong business ethics I learned there.”

In conclusion, Grayson states unequivocally, “I could not possibly recommend a better educational environment than Lyme Academy [College] for anyone looking to learn figurative work, classical training, the business of art and painting technical skills.”
