A little more about Noreen…

For starters, my name is Noreen Hasan. I’m currently a junior at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, California. If I could choose one word to describe myself with it would be talkative. I talk a lot and my personality shines through in my writing. I’ve taken courses at school such as AP Language and Composition and Journalism which have helped me develop my own voice. Blogging entices me because I am literally talking to a group of people. I know that my posts will be read by other people who are stuck in similar situations. I get to use my personality and wit to captivate the audience.

Why blogging? Well, first off, it seems amazing. Getting the opportunity to share my college struggles with fellow teenagers who are going through the same thing I am is very cool. I may not be able to talk to them face-to-face, but writing to them is just as amazing. If I can tell people about the mistakes and successes I have during my college endeavors, they will be less prone to making the same mistakes I did.

I’ve grown up with an older sister and two little brothers. In my family, uniqueness was rewarded. In order to have our voices heard, we all developed our own personalities. Mine is one of sarcasm and humor. I try to use these two characteristics to break through to other people. Who knew teenagers liked sarcasm? I try to incorporate these attributes into my writing style to develop a voice that is my own.
