What’s one thing you wish you knew going into your freshman year?

I wish I knew about art school a lot earlier in my life.

What’s the most rewarding thing about art school?

The most rewarding thing is having teachers who are actually working in the industry still.

Do you have any advice for future art students?

Make connections. Don’t be shy about collaborating with different people, enjoy school while you can and put all your effort into your work. Remember you’re being taught by professionals. There is a good chance they might enjoy your work and you will have a job waiting for you once you graduate.

One thing I wish I knew was not all schools are the same when it comes to curriculum.

What’s the most rewarding thing about art school?

One rewarding thing about art school is that you can work with other artists in their different mediums and share ideas to make a mind-blowing project.

Do you have any advice for future art students?

Some advice for future art students is to be prepared for all the challenges to come your way. Also, never burn bridges with people even though you may not like them for teachers and students. Finally, your teachers are teaching you what they learned from their mistakes so you won’t have to make [the same mistakes] in the real world; they had that job you wanted before they started teaching.
