Why do you believe that this nominee should be named
Creative Outlook Magazine’s Art Teacher of the Year”?

Most teachers are passionate about the subject they teach; that is why they teach it. But Mrs. Decristofaro is different. Not only is she passionate about art, but she finds and develops that passion within each of her students. I remember walking into my first art class. I thought art was only for those born with artistic talents, and one purpose was to fulfill my fine arts credit and never look back. There were other students who were much more talented and easier to work with, but Mrs. Decristofaro patiently guided me through the different techniques and assignments. She did that with every student. After hours of her determined efforts, I was amazed by what I had created. Seeing what I was capable of instilled a passion within me to share my work with others. I wanted the whole world to know what I could do, and what they were capable of as well. Mrs. Decristofaro doesn’t just help us to create art masterpieces; she helps to create masterpieces out of people. She sees the true potential of each person, whether they are artistically inclined or not. In her mind everyone can paint, or draw, or sculpt. In her mind, everyone can do anything.
